UN Volunteers: Our mission

Created as a subsidiary organ of the United Nations General Assembly in 1970, under the general aegis of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)read

As a response to varying needs of the country, there are three major categories of United Nations Volunteers serving in Ghana:
UNV specialists: have an average of 5-10 years of professional experience and generally serve in technical cooperation.
UNV fieldworkers:have an average of 3-5 years of experience in community development and serve as a catalyst or animators for development at the community level.
National United Nations Volunteers: are either specialists or fieldworkers who serve as volunteers in their country under the UNV Programme.
