Community Water Initiative

The Community Water Initiative (CWI) project in Ghana aims to improve on the community water and sanitation situations in the rural areas. The project seeks to support pro-poor, marginalized rural communities to improve on the access to water resources management, water supply and sanitation, through low-cost, affordable, bottom-up and sustainable approaches. The CWI therefore aims to contribute to identifying, demonstrating and disseminating approaches that remove economic, policy, institutional and knowledge barriers to contribute towards MDGs and GEF Strategic Priorities.
