Sustainable Land Management Programme (SLaM)

The SLaM project addresses sustainable land management to stem the accelerated land degradation, which threatens the global environment and the very livelihoods of humanity, especially by deforestation, soil erosion, biodiversity loss and climate warming. The overarching goal is to contribute to sustainable ecosystem-based integrated land management in globally, nationally and locally significant land resources in agricultural areas under threat of land degradation, for greater ecosystem stability, enhanced food security and improved rural livelihoods.
