The UNDP 2006-2009 Country Programme Action Plan has notably proposed a component which entails strengthening the rule of law and access to justice through the human rights based approach. As part of this programme, UNDP support to the Ghana Prisons Service and the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice aims at enhancing the promotion and protection of human rights. This is pursued through capacity building support and human rights education for the inmates and the population in general.
